WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) on Thursday greeted Girl Scouts of Hattiesburg who are in Washington to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts.
The Senators commended the girls from Troops 6133 and 6102 for working to earn a trip to Washington to be part of the Girl Scouts’ 100th Anniversary “Rock the Mall” celebration at noon (EDT) on Saturday, June 9.
Rock the Mall will bring Girl Scouts from across the nation to the grounds of the Washington Monument for a massive sing-along. An estimated 250,000 scouts are expected to participate.
The Girl Scouts delegation from the Oak Grove area of Hattiesburg who met with Cochran and Wicker included: (front) Taylor Miller, Maryn Hillman, Olivia Hillman, Jane Granberry, Mary Katherine Gray, Olivia Essary and Melinda Johnson; (middle) Britney Swaggerty, Kimbrell Barger, Morgan Phelps, Hermine Granberry, Dymond Harris and Anna Pittman; (back) Hermine Granberry, Leslie Barger and Elgen Hillman.
