COCHRAN STATEMENT ON SENATE APPROVAL OF FY 2010 BUDGET RESOLUTION
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS), Ranking Republican on the Senate Appropriations Committee, today made the following announcement on the passage of the Senate Democrats’ Fiscal Year 2010 Budget Resolution.
“I could not support the FY 2010 Budget Resolution because of the massive increases in spending it calls for. The spending ceiling created by this budget puts the United States in a dangerous position by requiring us to borrow large sums of money and increase taxes. Our government is growing at an alarming pace and we do not have the resources to sustain this growth. We should be working to decrease deficit spending rather than passing legislation that places an enormous financial burden on our children and grandchildren.”
